Surprise!!

Because I'm the worst blogger EVER, I have yet to do a post that I am Pregnant..AGAIN!
With our 3rd baby
I'm 13 Weeks today!
Officially in my 2nd Trimester and I couldn't be more happy about that.

Even though I haven't been able to blog, I had my handy dandy cellular phone so I wrote down thoughts or new symptoms and what not in my "notes" app. There are some boring pregnancy reality so if you don't want to read about it, skip it! Haha, But I'm so so glad that I took a minute and wrote down some things.

Pregnancy Baby Cub #3

WEEK 4-5
Found out this week Saturday April 9th 2016 woke up and thought I would take a test I was 4 days away from my expected Period. It was Positive! Lucas had just gotten home and Bea was awake on the couch. Lucas was eating cereal at the computer desk and I came in from the bathroom shaking cause I was shocked! Turned on the computer desk light and showed him! Woot! Baby # 3 is on the way!

-No cravings yet.
-morning sickness?? Not sure. The last 3 days I have gotten nauseous in late afternoon same time ever day. I never throw up.
-Heartburn already. Had none with James, a little bit with Bea. But it's only almost week 5 and I get heartburn after lunch 😁
-crazy tired in late afternoon kind of goes along with the nausea!

That's about it for my symptoms this week.

Made a doctor appointment with Dyer for May 9th! We should be able to hear the heartbeat cause I will be around 8 Weeks and will be getting blood work done!

Week 6: April 25th 2016

Having a lot of aches and pains. The right side of my ribs hurt! Today was the first day I threw up. Been trying to calm the sickness with soda crackers but they aren't helping much. I feel as though I'm 30 weeks instead of 6 mainly because it hurts to bend down and my stomach feels like a lot is going on. It's hard to describe. I'm straight up exhausted and end up taking multiple cat naps during the day. I find laying in my bed I'm most uncomfortable but that's easy to feel cause our bed is a pile.
Got a letter in the mail saying that my OB, Dr Dyer is retiring. So I'm a little freaked out about that. But the gal I'm leaning towards is Dr Shelley and when I told Lucas he said that she was actually the one to deliver Lily! I totally forgot. But Shelley was the Doctor there that day. I remember really liking her.
Today is James 5! I cannot believe it! We're going up to Idaho Falls to celebrate with the Duncans. :)
We're going to try and keep my baby #3 pregnancy a secret

8 WEEKS

5.27.16 Week 11
Been slacking on updating on how I've been feeling. It's a straight up miracle, but about week 8 or 9 I started to feel less sick all day! It was coming in waves throughout the day and it still does a little bit but some days I don't have to take my nausea pill at all! I think I could count on one hand how many times  I've thrown up! Which is AMAZING since my pregnancy with James I lost sooo much weight cause all I did was throw up. Lily was a little lighter but I was still sick till around 20 weeks. I did throw up today but I think a lot of it was because I had just woken up and I had nothing in my stomach, Lucas has just changed a VERY stinky diaper of Lily's and I couldn't deal with the smell, I yarfed! Haha. But I've been doing so good! Even though my nausea is about done, I have had HORRIBLE back pain. I'm so stiff! I don't think it's the pregnancy that is going it, I think I have a pulled muscle and the pregnancy isn't necessarily helping. I think I need to get a "prenatal massage" haha, I always thought those sounded silly, but I'm definitely getting one ASAP!
As for weight I am already much heavier than I was with James and Lily's pregnancies. I weighed in at my doc visit at 8 weeks and 3 days and I've lost a little but that's normal in the first trimester. I have stopped drinking caffeine every day. I rarely have a soda or anything like that, because it makes my stomach hurt and feel even more empty, so I've been staying away so I think that's a lot of why I've lost weight cause my belly is BIG!
Which leads me to my next thing; because I'm not drinking caffeine every day and I'm pregnant, I'm EXTREMELY TIRED! I used to go to sleep at like 1am every night and I can't make it past 11 most nights and I still take naps when lily takes her nap during the day. I was also having terrible headaches/migraines but those have kind of subsided this past week. Hopefully we're done with those!
One more thing! I am 99% sure I felt the baby move twice! I have had two kids and I KNOW how that feels. I'm pretty sure he or she flipped around. 😍
12 WEEKS

12 Weeks 3 days-
I had my doctors appointment with my new OB Dr Shelley. She was nice. They were behind on patients so it felt a little rushed but I'm really hoping next time will feel better. She found the heartbeat right away and said it was 150 she said it was strong! We're still on the fence about finding out the gender or not when we have our sonogram at 20 Weeks. We have basically everything we need if it's a boy or girl anyway, why not wait till birth?! That will be the coolest experience but at the same time I of course want to know and  afraid it will haunt me the whole pregnancy. Ugh! It's so hard!

13 WEEKS

Now I am 13 Weeks and I have felt hardly ANY nausea. Hoping it's gone for good! As for other symptoms I really have minimal. I think I'm just so busy with Lily and James that I do not have time to linger in my symptoms and I have really no choice but to get things done which staying busy, I noticed, makes me less sick. Every once in a while I will get a headache/migraine but they have toned down a lot! Went to my doctors appointment and actually lost one pound according to the weigh in from last month. which, would normally be because your throwing up a lot, but that's not my case! I have only thrown up a few times. I have very little to NO caffiene/soda. It hurts my stomach just thinking about it. I'm pretty sure that is why i'm losing weight because my belly is ginormous!!
as for cravings I'm not having strong cravings at all. I simply want juicy things like fruit and baby carrots. I wouldn't say those are cravings more like, if I HAVE TO eat, those are the only things that sound good. I'm definitely having more aversions than anything. Like, today I felt like Chicken pesto and has been cooking in the crockpot all day and now I literally can't stand the smell. So I didn't eat dinner tonight. I'm hoping carrots and apples will suffice for my dinner tonight! I am honestly the same size as I was at like 22-24 weeks with Lily. Crazy right. It makes sense since I was at a heavier weight that I was with both of them. Looking forward to NO MORE NAUSEA!

Some Baby #3 Thoughts...

Some things I have gathered from blog posts of mommies who are/were pregnant with their 3rd child, a few have mentioned that by the 3rd go around a lot of people are excited for you when you tell them the news, but also say things like, " Wow, really?" and "A 3rd is completely different than 2" essentially, people are happy for you but there's that, "Well it's your third mentality so it's not as exciting"..? I have honestly experienced that with a couple of people close to me.
They're happy, they just wonder why not wait a few more years in between kids? I'm a little sad that many people think that way about children. Like, they are this HUGE burden and road block in life. I've always wanted kids and even though I am not the most patient mommy and I make mistakes everyday, they are still my life. I have an EXTREMELY high maintenance 5 year old who questions, wonders and NEEDS to know EVERYTHING! His emotional level is almost like a two year old, but his brain is that of a 10 year old. I KNOW kids are difficult. Lucas and I both want children because they make us so so happy. We don't want children because it's expected of us or because everyone else is doing it. We want children while we are young so that when our children are young we can still be young too. That's a long rant blog post for another day.
I am so incredibly thankful for both my families and their support. The Duncan side is expecting 3 new babies by the end of the year and I'm just tickled to death to be pregnant with My sister in law Mary and my new Sister in law Gina! I'm just so excited even though this is my third It's still just as exciting to me! :)

Meet Lily Bea Duncan..

Lily Bea Duncan
8Ibs 9oz 21 inches
Born at 11:11am
October 5th, 2013

...And there she is. This pregnancy went by very fast but the last couple weeks couldn't have gone slower. I'm just so happy that she is healthy and in my arms. Love this little girl we're so happy to have her in our family. It really feels complete. Lucas goes back to work on wednesday and I'm super nervous. He is one amazing dad and I'm worried about doing this by myself at night. James is such a handful already and Lily required all of my attention. Pray that I can handle this myself and get used to it quickly. :)

Last days of Pregnancy and Letters to my loves.

My beautiful amazing talented friend, Jessamyn took my Maternity Pictures. I wasn't even going to do them because I've gained so much this pregnancy. Nothing in my closet fit and we just moved my mind is crazy with last minute unpacking and endless things to do but I'm so glad we decided to do it because my Lily girl is going to look back on these photos and LOVE them. Jessamyn has an amazing eye and is so patient with people with kiddos. She also has such a gift capturing the love. I've always believed that candid photos are the best and what you see is us being real. So a million thanks to Uptown Photography for these photos.

 Dear James,
Your little life is about to be turned upside down in a few days and I pray that you are good for your mommy and daddy! Haha, but most of all, I hope you know that we love you with everything we have. You are literally our lives and what we live for. You're perfect in our eyes and we know you are going to be a great big brother once you realize what is even going on. Lily is one lucky little lady. Just know little boy, that throughout this pregnancy I have been sad many times because I now have to share you. Doesn't mean my love for you or Lily is any less. I've just loved giving you my all and I know things will have to change a little bit. I'm still going to take you to the park and spoil you with "chicken and fries" from McDonalds and better believe Chocolate milk and fruit snacks will be involved whenever it is possible. As much as I can, I promise to sing you 'Our song' while you fall asleep and also let you sleep with us in our bed because I know you get scared of the dark. Little boy, I'm still going to spoil you rotten. I love you James Ryan and I can't wait for you to meet your little sister for the first time.
-Love, Mommy.

 Dear Lucas,
Even though we have been very caught up in kids, work, moving and just the overall stress of life, I feel like we handle our life beautifully. You working nights is so hard on all of us but I'm happy that we can still laugh at the same things that we did 5 ish years ago when we met and we still hear songs that remind us of our each other and our love. Our relationship is definitely different from when we first got married because so much has happened in the short time we've been married. We may not be able to go to movies and Ruby Tuesday every friday night for date night but we also have gained the sweetest little boy that is basically like watching a movie. Also, a little gal in about a week or so that we get to snuggle to no end. I know you are beyond excited about Lily but I can also tell you are scared to have a little girl. believe me, me too. I cannot wait to see your face when you hold her for the first time. You are such a good Daddy to James, I have zero doubts that you are going to be a great daddy to Lily.  Just know Lucas that I love you and our inside jokes and I love that we can somehow know what the other is thinking without saying at all. One more thing. I want to thank you for putting up with my pregnancy craziness and constant feeling of insecurity that I have felt the past 9 months. You are such an amazing person and one thing I've learned being married to you is that things ALWAYS get better. I can't thank you enough for working as hard as you do. I love you.
-Hailey

 Dear Lily Bea,
Your time is just about here. I'm so scared but I'm also feeling calm because I know what to expect a little bit. I am very emotional this pregnancy and I have a feeling I'm going to be when I hold you for the first time because you know your grandpa Rash in a way that non of us have known. You are the second child born in our family since my dad has passed (Nova Jo was first in January) and I just know that I'm going to ball my eyes out when I meet you for the first time. We are almost ready for you just a few more things to get done so my mind is eased. For the most part though, I have your cradle all ready and all your clothes and blankets in the drawers and sorted. My hospital bag has been packed for about a month :) We're just over the moon excited to add you to our family. I want you to come soon but It would be pretty awesome if you came October 3rd because Oct 3rd, 2009 your Daddy proposed to me. That would be pretty rad if you came that day. But on the other hand, my due date is October 2nd and my body feels like it might fall apart if you don't come soon! ;) So anytime baby girl. I hope you get here easily and that you are healthy. I have no doubts that you are going to be beautiful so I'm not worried about that. Can you please have James cheeks?! :) That's really all I ask. We love you! See you so soon!
-Love, Mommy.

This is james in all this glory. Pretty much how last week looked for us. Not even kidding. We really do love parenthood! Bring on the Crazy of two kids!! :)

Pregnancy Update

This was 22 weeks. Excuse the bathroom mess. Ya'll know how it goes. Anyways, at 22 weeks I was feeling good. James and I were going on walks and I had a lot of energy...

...Then I was 25 weeks. Still feeling good but just really tired and some days my stomach just aches in certain places. I find it SO much harder to just pick things up off the floor and carry James downstairs. I don't think I should be doing that anymore. I wake up some mornings and my hips feel like I'm 70+ years old. I've noticed this pregnancy I am a lot more annoyed with little things people do and say. Like while I'm driving I have definitely developed a bit of a potty mouth. Woops. And WOOO baby girl, you are constantly moving and flipping and kicking and doing all sorts of stuff. I thought James moved a lot.

Right before this picture was taken Lucas was talking to baby girl so he could feel her kicking and he called her by her name which I shall reveal in a moment, but he called her name and then Luke felt her kick super hard. Such a movie moment. I was just a little unsure of the first name until then. I just knew it was her little name. It's moments like that that I literally live for.

           Her name is:

Since I was little I have loved the name Lily and It's pretty much been the plan from the very beginning. I've always loved the name Eleanor too but when we saw her in the ultrasound I just didn't see an Eleanor.

As for her middle name..It's very dear to me because it's 100% unique to us. I feel like it's an old school name and those are the names I love for little gals. I didn't even come up with it. Lucas and I were sitting there talking about names and I was expressing how I just have no idea what to name her and Luke said, "How about Lily Bea Duncan?" I didn't even have to think about it. We both were just brought to tears. That was it. Ever since we have been calling her Lily Bea. James says her name sometimes but he refers to her as "Baby Sister". Gosh, I love this crazy little life of ours. Can't wait till our little Bea is here.
