Our Long Weekend

I'm sure you've all heard that my husband works nights. Nights as in 7pm to 7am . Fun right? Yeah, so with that comes weird days off. He has Sunday, Monday and Tuesdays off and every other Saturday. So his Long week SUCKS. But when he has 4 days off we try and take advantage and hang out as a family. It was his short week and we were in much need of a break so Lucas asked his cute sister Sadie to watch the kiddos while we went to the movie. Not just any movie though. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Lucas and I fell in love mainly because of our love for The Lord of the Rings ;). So naturally we had to make it a priority to see The Hobbit in the theater :) When the first Hobbit came out in theater we went to that and loved it but the think with Peter Jackson is, the movies just keep getting better. This movie is so amazing. I'll save another post expressing my love for J.R.R. Tolkein though. Sorry for the Nerd alert. Just kidding I'm not sorry.
Anyways...
We've had such a fun weekend. We finished Christmas shopping, took the kids out and about and it wasn't even painful. James is a little angel when we go to the store because mommy figured out all you have to do is carry suckers in your purse and he is a wonderful little boy. Lily is always an angel because little miss falls asleep on the way to the store.  We went to like 3 stores with these kids and they were perfect. I would say that that was a record for sure.

The obligatory car selfies while waiting for the husband. I had document how stinking cute my new leather coat was. Thanks Lukie for the early Christmas Present! :)

I can't even handle this handsome face. You can't tell me that's not the sweetest little face.

This was a few days ago. Lily had her Doctors appointment and we had to run some errands so we thought we would go see Santa. It was hardly busy so he got a few minutes with him. I would have gotten Lily out too..but she was fast asleep in the stroller and I didn't want to bug the poor dear. Next year for sure.  This was James first time meeting Santa and he gave him a book and asked him what he wanted for Christmas and James said, "A TRAIN. THAT TRAIN." He was referring to the coin operated train just across the way. Haha. He could really care less about Santa. He wanted to ride that dang train. Love this kid.
After we saw Santa we went home and were walking down the stairs. Both Lucas and I had our hands full. James usually does fine on the stairs but he decided it would be a good idea to walk down backwards and fell down the stairs. The second scariest moment of parenthood EVER. I cuddled him and got him Chocolate milk and basically got him whatever he wanted because it scared me so bad. Our stairs are cement. So happy that he only had a couple bruises and he took it like a total champ.

At Miss Bea's Doctors Appointment, she had to get 2 Shots, an Oral Vaccination and they took her blood. Which she did not like one bit!!! She was one ticked off little gal. But Dr. Denton said that she is healthy and perfect. 13Ibs 6oz. Definitely healthy! Haha. Her next appointment is in February and we have to schedule another ultrasound on her kidney's just to make sure that fluid went away. I'm hoping it did because I have no idea what the next step would be. Also, little miss has had a clogged tear duct since she was born and if she still has that at 9 or 10 months then we need to see a specialist and she may have to have surgery in the future. I'm not worried about that mainly because my niece had the same thing but much worse and she never had to have surgery or anything so I'm confident that my little sweetheart is just fine.
I just did a little update on Lily when she turned 2 Months but since then she can roll over from her tummy to her back. and she is holding her head up like a champ. She isn't too wobbly anymore. Can't believe how fast she is growing.

These little outfits were mine when I was a babe. The little pink romper was my moms. Love Vintage clothes. I could just die, Lily looks so cute

That's a little update on our week.
P.s. I apologize for the low quality pictures. We live in a basement where there is basically no natural light so therefore, grainy pictures to the max. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Years! I know we will! SO EXCITED!

  1. Bentley had a clogged tear duct up until he was about 5 months and he got a cold which stayed in his eye since it was clogged. They gave him some antibiotics for me to rub on his eye and he has never had a problem since. We thought we were going to have to do surgery too. Don't worry there are so many other things they can try to make it go away first.
